Client: Salisbury Associates

Brief: Architect and Design website for Salisbury Associates. Develop website with an open source Content Management System

Technologies:PHP, CSS, JavaScript

Roles: Web Designer, Developer and Information Architect

Notes: Structured and wireframed the content for the proposed website. Designed the website interface (excepting banners within header on subpages, presentations and interactive '10 things'). Images on homepage and subpage background header are designer's own.

Installed and configured Drupal for the content management framework. Developed page templates, css and configured modules. Has collapsible case studies within Services pages and uses Lightbox 2 overlay for Flash video in the About us media page.

Paul Thomas Flowers

Client: Paul Thomas Flowers

Brief: Design the branding for the website and develop gallery and slideshow applications

Technologies: Flash ActionScript, XML

Role: Designer, Flash Platform Developer

Notes: The gallery application uses a small footprint (68kb) and uses xml to deliver the location of the thumbnail and large images for upload into the gallery. The thumbnails load in sequence rather than in the usual ad-hoc manner. XML also provides the text for the gallery and the descriptions for the images. Brief: Design and create illustration for an LGC full page advert

Role: Senior Designer

Notes: Agilisys were running a full page advert in the LGC (Local Government Chronicle) magazine a publication that focuses on local Government news. Agilisys is an IT services and outsourcing provider for both the public and private sector, they have particular expertise with local government.

News Channel

Client: Agilisys

Brief: Create a projection application to display news items in the reception area. Requires a simple remote content management system with a minimum learning requirement

Technologies: Flash, ActionScript 2.0, RSS

Role: Senior Designer/Flash Developer

Notes: Object Oriented ActionScript application which parses an RSS news feed from a wordpress 'blog' site. Wordpress is used as a content management system. The application extracts title, excerpt and thumbnail from each post and displays them sequentially. Designed for projection.

Food Quality

Client: McDonald's UK

Brief: Create a page viewer that has a rich visual navigation to access each section. The sections will have multiple pages and sequential navigation will be necessary.

Technologies: Flash, ActionScript 2.0, XML

Role: Senior Designer/Flash Developer

Notes: Object Oriented ActionScript application which displays a set of pages from a "page library". The library is created from an XML file containing page URLs, colour references for interface elements, link URLs and contextual information. A wraparound scroller is used to navigate the sections.

Agilisys Corporate Communications Campaign

Client: Agilisys Corporate Communications

Brief: Conceptualise ideas and design materials for the Corporate Communications' MAD 4 IT campaign

Role: Senior Designer

Notes: Agilisys' Internal Communications were running a campaign to encourage members of staff to submit ideas for improvements to the way they worked. The brief required conceptualising how the message was branded and delivered. The chosen concept was then further developed for different campaign materials. These included posters, badges, mousemats (see below) and mugs.

Brief: Campaign to promote a Big Mac prize winning opportunity. Firstly, show a Big Mac and the prizes that can be won, including details of the prizes. Secondly, a support page to display information about how to win the prizes (Big Mac Experience packaging)

Fluency Logo

Client: Fluency

Brief: Design logo

Role: Designer

Notes: Fluency was created as a spin-off from the Voice Research & Development team of a company called netdecisions. The focus of the development was speech recognition systems. Fluency became a separate entity in May 2001 and required a new brand identity.

Wave

Client: netdecisions

Brief: Internal promotion piece

Technologies: Illustrator, After Effects

Role: Designer, Video Animator, Sound Designer

Notes: A line, created in Illustrator, was duplicated to several layers in Adobe After Effects. A wave was then generated by flexing, and distorting the vector images over time. The sound effects were also the result of layering, stretching and distorting small sound files.
