Paul Thomas Flowers

Client: Paul Thomas Flowers

Brief: Design the branding for the website and develop gallery and slideshow applications

Technologies: Flash ActionScript, XML

Role: Designer, Flash Platform Developer

Notes: The gallery application uses a small footprint (68kb) and uses xml to deliver the location of the thumbnail and large images for upload into the gallery. The thumbnails load in sequence rather than in the usual ad-hoc manner. XML also provides the text for the gallery and the descriptions for the images. See the site live at www.paulthomasflowers.co.uk.

Nutrition Counter

Nutrition Counter

Client: McDonald's UK.

Brief: Create a 'nutrition counter' that calculates nutritional values based on items selected. The application should be divided into 'menus' that contain current offerings at McDonald's restaurants. Selections from the menus will be added to a calculator which will then totalise the values. Two views should show values per portion and values per 100g.

Technologies: Flash, Actionscript 2.0, Web services

Role: Flash developer

Notes: Built on an ARP framework, the Nutrition Counter is an Object Oriented ActionScript (OOAS) application that consumes webservices. The menu tabs in turn, once clicked, submit a request which then returns the selected menu together with nutritional values for all of the items.
