Client: Salisbury Associates

Brief: Architect and Design website for Salisbury Associates. Develop website with an open source Content Management System

Technologies:PHP, CSS, JavaScript

Roles: Web Designer, Developer and Information Architect

Notes: Structured and wireframed the content for the proposed website. Designed the website interface (excepting banners within header on subpages, presentations and interactive '10 things'). Images on homepage and subpage background header are designer's own.

Installed and configured Drupal for the content management framework. Developed page templates, css and configured modules. Has collapsible case studies within Services pages and uses Lightbox 2 overlay for Flash video in the About us media page.

Key Travel CMS

Client: Key Travel

Brief: Develop website for Key Travel with an open source Content Management System

Technologies:PHP, CSS, JavaScript, HTML

Role: Web Developer

Notes: Installed and configured Drupal for the content management framework. Developed page templates, css, jQuery animations and custom configured modules.

Key Travel had clients with accounts that granted them access to external services tailored to their needs. These multiple remote log-ins were stored on a customer profile to attain a gateway to their chosen services with a single log-in. Key Travel required 2 news feeds to appear on the site. One from several external sources and an internal news feed. The external news-feed uses aggregated content from several sources which feed the news widget. The internal news-feed scroller was built using the same principles but using articles published on the website.

The site also makes use of jQuery animations and LightBox media viewer module for image galleries. See the site live at www.keytravel.com.

Client: Paul Thomas Flowers

Brief: Design the branding for the website and develop gallery and slideshow applications

Technologies: Flash ActionScript, XML

Role: Designer, Flash Platform Developer

Notes: The gallery application uses a small footprint (68kb) and uses xml to deliver the location of the thumbnail and large images for upload into the gallery. The thumbnails load in sequence rather than in the usual ad-hoc manner. XML also provides the text for the gallery and the descriptions for the images. The slideshow application (below) is a lightweight version of the gallery (12kb) using just the slideshow aspect. See the site live at www.paulthomasflowers.co.uk.

Notes: Agilisys were running a full page advert in the LGC (Local Government Chronicle) magazine a publication that focuses on local Government news. Agilisys is an IT services and outsourcing provider for both the public and private sector, they have particular expertise with local government.

Brief: Create a projection application to display news items in the reception area. Requires a simple remote content management system with a minimum learning requirement

Technologies: Flash, ActionScript 2.0, RSS

Role: Senior Designer/Flash Developer

Notes: Object Oriented ActionScript application which parses an RSS news feed from a wordpress 'blog' site. Wordpress is used as a content management system. The panel rotates and the application extracts title, excerpt and thumbnail from each post and displays them sequentially on each rotation. Designed for projection.
